27 March 2015

If you have been reading this blog for longer than a week you may or may not have heard me say this a couple of times, but today is the day I’m addressing it in a special post. I thought it would be useful to write a separate blog posts about why I’m moving and what I’m going to be doing in London. To go along with this post I have made a video, so If you’re lazy (or if you just prefer someone talking to you) then click on the video below!

When are you moving to London?

I’m going to move to London on 25 April 2015. I will go to London by train (Eurostar) as it allows me to bring two suitcases with as much crap in it as I’m able to lift up. :-)

Where are you going to live in London?

I’m not going to be living in the city centre, as it is quite expensive to live in or near London in itself. I will be living in zone 2 and when I’m back home I will do a full post about the apartment and the area. However, out of safety and privacy reasons I will not discuss it in any more detail today. Hope that’s okay!

Why are you moving to London?

My school obliges me to live in an English-speaking country for at least two months and we have to either follow some kind of course or work at a primary school. Initially I wanted to go to Kenya, but last year the girl that went there had to come back because it wasn’t safe anymore. So I opted for my second home: England. More specifically: London.

So yeah, my school wants me to go and live in an English-speaking country and I don’t have any problems with that! It’s an actual “course” and we do get credits for going. :-)

Are you moving there permanently?

I’m sad that I’m not. I will be living there for two months. After that I have a few exams I need to take at my school, so I couldn’t stay any longer.

Are you moving out there on your own or are you going to live with someone else?

I liked the idea of doing a course so I looked online to find something more up north (as it’s a cheaper option compared to the south of England) but I couldn’t really find anything. One of the criteria is that you have to go by yourself. London would just be too expensive and I didn’t really want to live with an old lady for two months…

Tahnee and I had been talking about going to London together, as we knew that last year some were allowed to go in pairs. Then Bo liked to go to London too… We were so scared to ask if we could go with the three of us, but the teacher said it was OK! She understood London was so expensive and she knew we were outgoing enough to go out anyway even if we went together.

With that being said: I’m going together with Bo and Tahnee, who you’ll hopefully see plenty of times on my blog during that period.

What can I expect on your blog & YouTube channel?

I hope that I have enough time to experience being a kind of full time blogger. Now I’m not promising anything just yet: but I’m going to try. I might fail miserably, but hey at least I will have tried right?

I will hopefully get a lot more posts up and I’m going to make an effort to make some kind of vlog (daily, weekly, I don’t know yet). If you want to see any kind of post whilst I’m there: just comment in the comment section below and I will definitely take it into consideration!

Any questions left?

If you have any questions left, don’t be afraid to ask them in the comment section! I’d love to answer them for you.
