REVIEW | FOREO LUNA MINI

Hi there lovely faces!
First of all: it feels so good to be taking pictures, editing them and writing blogposts again! I am definitely working on improving on blogposts and I may film some videos in the near future!

Today I will be reviewing the Foreo Luna Mini. I got this as a gift for myself for my birthday back in October. I opted for a Foreo Luna instead of a Clarisonic, because you do not have to change brush-heads and that way this would be a cheaper alternative for something that does nearly the same thing.
I went with the Foreo Luna Mini, because I think it is more suitable for younger skin, as it has a deep pore cleansing side where the normal Foreo Luna has an anti-aging side. You have a fun selection of colours you can choose from, I chose for a light pink one.
“The world’s first T-Sonic facial-cleansing brush, for a deep and gentle clean in just 1 minute.”

The T-Sonic technology helps cleansing the skin both deeper and gentler at the same time. They say it will transform the look and feel of your skin within just 3 days. It would reduce causes of blemishes, while smoothing and refining your skin’s texture.
The sonic movements of the brush will remove dead skin cells and cleansing pores of dirt, oil and makeup residue.  It also improves the absorption of skincare products.
The brush consists of 1,300 nonabrasive touch-points that keep buildup away for a more hygienic cleansing surface than standard sonic brushes as the Clarisonic. I am not saying that the Clarisonic is bad or whatever, or that you do not have to clean this brush at all. You just don’t have to buy new brush-heads every once in a while.
The Foreo Luna is completely waterproof so you can use it in the shower easily or give yourself a little treatment while taking a bath.

The benefits according to the Foreo Luna website:
·         Clearer, brighter and healthier-looking skin
·         New way of cleansing that is deep, yet gentle
·         Skin is freed of dirt, oil and makeup residue
·         Pores are cleansed of blemish-causing impurities
My Foreo Luna Mini came with an authenticity card. It is a nice thing to have and you’re sure that it is an authentic product, not a knockoff.
It is USB rechargeable and great for travelling as the battery will last you up to 300 uses. I haven’t had to charge it yet since I got it, so I haven’t had to charge it for at least 3 months and my Foreo Luna Mini is still going strong.
It is fairly small and it is very lightweight. This also makes it great for travelling as you can take it with you easily! Although it is fairly small, it is not too small to be comfortable to use. It is just the right size to me.
It just has one button, if you press it once you activate your Luna (it will automatically be in high-intensity mode), if you press it twice it will turn to a more subtle vibration mode, so you can use it around your eye-area without it being too much (this is called the low-intensity mode). If you press the button for a third time, you’ll deactivate your device.
When you activate your Luna the bottom/clear part will light up and it will start vibrating. You use the touch-points on your face in circular motions. After three minutes it deactivates itself so you don’t over-cleanse your skin.

This is the back of the Foreo Luna Mini; this side has the deep cleansing touch-points and the waterproof charging port.
This is the general cleansing side of the Foreo Luna Mini.
This is the deep cleansing side of the Foreo Luna Mini. You can see that the touch-points are a lot bigger on this side.

They say you should use this every day, morning and night. I have to be honest with you guys and tell you that I haven’t been using it that consistently. I use it a minimum of three times a week, in the evening, for 3 minutes. If I do it more often I will only use it for 1 minute during the “extra” times.

Although I am not using this every day, I can definitely tell that it makes a difference when I use it and when I haven’t used it for a while. My skin feels soft and smooth, spots go away quicker and are smaller in general, and my skin tone is more even. Also the pores on and around my nose, where dirt usually creates blackheads on my face, look smaller and most (if not all) blackheads will be gone.

I have to add that when using this on a spot, it won’t feel nice. To me it doesn’t hurt, but it definitely is not a nice feeling. I reckon that is because the skin is already irritated because of the spot.

Overall it is a very nice addition to my skincare routine and I am pleased that I got it! I definitely think that devices like this cleanse your skin as no other and that’ll help your skin look and behave better! I love using it in combination with my Philosophy Purity Made Simple cleanser.

I bought my Foreo Luna Mini at bol.com for €119,- because then they would take care of the shipment etc. as it is a Dutch webshop. Prices at this webshop have gone up to €134,- though, so that is a bummer!
You can also get this at the Foreo Luna website and they’ve started selling the normal Foreo Luna at Sephora too.

Lots of love,

Laurie

  1. You're pictures are great but I think you should be a bit more selective about them. Less is more (: just pick the best ones out, it'll make a stronger post
