3 October 2013

Hi there lovely faces!  The third October Bday Month post is a tag! I’m going to do the ABC Tag.

18 (Turning 19 this month!! Yay!) I was born on 24 October 1994.

Best friend:
Ah, this is a hard one! I have only a few friends I consider “Best friends”, but besides that I have a few good friends too. If one of my friends is reading this, you’ll know it when you are a close friend to me. ;)

Chore you hate:
To name just one: Cleaning my room! I’m allergic to dust mites, so every single time I have to clean my room – which gets bombarded with clothes because I have a ‘I don’t know what to wear’-moment almost every week – I get a sneezing fit, watery eyes and an itchy throat. Fun times...

Dream house:
My dream house doesn’t need to be big, but just enough room for all of my stuff and separate rooms for my future children. I would like to have a detached house with a lot of windows, so there’s a lot of light inside the house during the day. In terms of how I would decorate my home I would say: cosy but with an edge. Solid wood and soft throws, see-through chairs with fluffy cushions. Warm and white colours... If you want I could try and make a post about this haha!

Essential start of your day:
Checking my social-media and then a splash of water into my face.

Favourite colour:
It depends a bit. Coral, cobalt and blue-ish-greens are generally my favourites!

Gold or Silver:
Again, it depends. I love gold jewellery on me, but not on everyone. Then again I do also like silver on me... Ahh can’t choose!

I think I’m 1.68m, or something like that haha!

Instruments I play:
The guitar and a bit of the piano, I do also like to sing. J

Job Title (most recent):
I’m currently a cashier at my local supermarket.

I don’t have any yet (you wouldn’t say huh?), but I really want some in the future! I just LOVE kids – well, most of the time – I can’t wait until I’m finished with school, have a stable job and a lovely hubby and we can start trying for kids. I get all excited even thinking about it now haha!

Life is incomplete without: Food, Family and Friends.

Music that you always listen to:
I always listen to Adele’s and John Mayer’s albums when I get ready or when I’m studying. I listen to a ton of other random songs, to name a few: Fast Car – Tracy Chapman, Home – Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros, Blurred Lines – Addie Hamilton (watch her amazing cover here) and  We Don't Eat - James Vincent Mcmorrow.

Lau or Lola. Lau is just short for Laurie and is pronounced the “Dutch” way (au as in how). My family used to call me Lola, I don’t really know why actually. I went through a phase that I hated it when my family called me that, so most of them don’t call me Lola anymore except for my brother and my dad’s cousin.

Overnight hospital stays:
Luckily I haven’t had any (overnight) hospital stays. Yay for that!

Phobias or fears:
Spiders, ghosts, being home alone at night, wasps (not particularly fond of other insects either), losing people I care about... Mm I have quite a few haha.

Quote of a movie:
Ohh, I love movies and I love quotes! I have a few, so I’ll just post some of my favourites here:
“Love doesn’t mean anything if you’re not willing to make a commitment, and you have to think not only about what you want, but about he wants. Not just now, but in the future.” – Nicholas Sparks, Safe Haven

“You can't live your life for other people. You've got to do what's right for you, even if it hurts some people you love.” Nicholas Sparks, The Notebook

“The moment of impact. The moment of impact proves potential for change. Has ripples effects far beyond what we can predict. Sending some particles crashing together. Making them closer than before. While sending others spinning off into great ventures. Landing them where you’ve never thought you’ve found them. That’s the thing about moments like these. You can’t control, no matter how hard you try, how it’s going affect you. You just got to let the colliding part go where they may, and wait for the next collision.”  The Vow

Reason to smile:
The fact that I get a chance to live my life every day. My lovely friends. Cute pictures and funny quotes on weheartit.com. My parent’s dog. Cute little kids. Drinking Late Macchiato when I’m cold. Foggy mornings. Weird people. Visiting Concerts. Unicorns. Building forts out of cushions and blankets. Hiding underneath duvet covers.

I have one brother.

Time you wake up:
It depends on what time I need to be in school. It varies from 6:00 A.M. to 8:00 A.M. during the week, and in the weekends I just wake up when I wake up haha.

Very important date this year:
Frankly… I can’t really think of something that is really very important… I do have something I look forward to though: I can’t wait to visit Harrogate with school and stay in an apartment with friends!

Worst habit:
Worrying too much and over-thinking everything ALL THE TIME. I hate that about myself, my brain needs an off-button. I’m not really sure it is really a ‘habit’ though. A really bad habit is that I never clean up my clothes when I’m done deciding what to wear... whoops!

X-rays you’ve done:
Once from my wisdom teeth, because I need to let them removed in a few years and I’m absolutely terrified for that moment. Another from my hip, I had the symptoms of a Hernia and they wanted to know for sure that it wasn’t that serious. FYI, it wasn’t.

Yummie food you make:
I don’t really like to cook, but one of the few things I can cook is chicken piri-piri, yum! I do LOVE to bake things: cake, cupcakes, you name it!

Zoo animal:
Lions, monkeys, tigers and giraffes.

Hope you liked it <3 Say bananas in the comment section below if you got through all this haha!

Lots of love,
