FIRST IMPRESSION | ZOEVA 88 EYESHADOW PALETTE

Hi everyone! In this post I told you that I got my Zoeva order on 19 April, containing the blush palette I talked about in that same post, a brush (I’m not going to review that one) and the 88 Eyeshadow Palette.

I got this palette because I wanted to experiment more with colours, without buying a zillion eyeshadows. When I first saw this palette in real life, I was quite disappointed already... This palette is a lot smaller than I expected it to be. “Oh well, maybe it’s for the best, I’m only going to experiment with it, I probably won’t use it all the time” I thought.
A friend of mine also has an 88 palette, but from a different brand. When I went to her house the other day I saw that hers was about the same size, so I guess it's fine.
I opened up the palette and got excited; there are some lovely colours in there!
Then I swatched them, sigh, another big disappointment. The pigmentation is bad.
Mehh, as much as I like other Zoeva products, this just isn’t good. The brownish colour is the darkest shade of the palette (bottom right), but it isn’t doing any justice. I still have to see how it looks when you put it on with a wet brush and a white base, but it shouldn’t be necessary.

Conclusion: Frankly, I think there are definitely better 88 palettes on the market and I regret buying the Zoeva one.

Lots of love,
Laurie

  1. I've been looking for a good review on this palette for ages (at least one that I can understand and one that isn't just a youtube video showing the palette but not testing it, ergh). How was it wet?

    1. I'm so sorry it took me so long to reply on you, I had some technical issues. Did you like this post better? It was a bit better when used with a wet brush, but I still think there are better ones on the market for the same price.
