FIRST IMPRESSION | CHANEL VITALUMIERE FOUNDATION

Hi everyone! Today I bought the Chanel Vitalumière Foundation, and I’m so excited that I wanted to write a post on it right now! What are my first thoughts about this high end foundation?
First stop, as always: the packaging. It comes in a nice black box, with a gold strip on the bottom. The name, brand, shade and ingredients are on it too.
All the ingredients listed on the back of the box.

Now: on to the actual packaging of the foundation. It is a glass bottle with a black lid. The Chanel logo is on the lid, which adds to the luxurious feeling of the product.
It also has a pump, which I like, because it’s more hygienic. The pump works really nice, you don’t end up with too much foundation on the back of your hand.

Why do I think this foundation is good for me?
My skin is quite dry and gets flaky sometimes (I know, that isn’t the nicest thing that can happen to your skin, is it?), and I personally don’t like heavy foundations. This is a foundation that makes your skin look dewy and it feels moisturizing. It’s a light to medium coverage.

The only big downside to this foundation line is that there are only about 8 shades to choose from. This shade - 20 Clair, the lightest one - is a bit too dark for me at the moment, but when I blend it in, it’s just fine. With summer in our near future, I think my skin will get a bit more tanned anyway, so then it’ll be the right shade for me.

The foundation itself is quite a runny one. When you put a bit on your hand, it will run down if you tilt your hand a bit. I really like that in a foundation.
Halfway blended, now you can really see it’s too dark for me. I tan fairly quickly though, so I hope Mother Nature works with me and gives me a nice summer.
Completely blended in! Sorry the lighting is a bit different, but you can tell that it looks fine when blended in. It gives a really natural coverage, it looks just like skin.

So far I’m very impressed with this foundation! I think this is going to be a favourite. J

Lots of love,
Laurie
